WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO
Welcome to Grampian Deaf Children's Society. We are a local charity supporting deaf and hearing impaired children, young people and their families. The group was established by parents of deaf children more than 30 years ago, and is still run by volunteers.
We provide events for deaf children to meet other deaf children, helping to establish peer networks, as well as providing opportunities for parents to learn from each other’s experiences and gain support from other families.
Events are run on an ad-hoc basis and we try to provide suitable events for all ages and interest. To be added to our mailing list, please request a membership form. Membership is free.
We work closely with local professionals in education, health and audiology to improve local services for children and young people with hearing difficulties.
We receive no regular national or local funding, and are reliant on our own fundraising efforts to provide activities and events for the children. As we are run by volunteers we have very little running costs and over 98% of money donated goes directly towards supporting local children and young people.
It’s easy to donate via our Virgin Money Just Giving page (click donate button above to donate now) or contact us for other ways to donate.
